I chose Special Education because I want to help students succeed and reach their maximum potential academically and functionally. I really enjoy the idea of technology but I don't understand a lot of it. I have a mac and I know there are so many cool things I could do on it, but I don't know how. I think that using technology in the classroom is a great way to relate to students and have them interact in the classroom. I would like to learn new programs to incorporate in my future classroom.
In this class, I would like to know how to create my e-portfolio, work new programs, how to use more effectively older programs, and work my mac.

In my future classroom, I will use technology as much as possible. I believe technology is very helpful to teach students and students love it. I think smart boards are great and I will use them as much as possible. Another skills I learned in this class is how to make graphs. I was very confused about how to complete these but now I know how to do it. I know I will need this skill in the near future, so I am thankful I know how to do it. Something I have noticed in my field placements is that students struggle with typing. Most of my students don't have home computers so they don't have a chance to practice typing. I want to give students an opportunity to use computers and type. Once they get in high school, they will be required to type all their papers, so this is an important skill to learn.
My recommendation is that all the block teachers and the technology teacher collaborate before the beginning of the semester. Then, it would be helpful for us to complete all the assignments in class on our own computers. I am so glad we started our student portfolio.
